Games

We have been talking about different types of games from non-games to video games. At first I was unsure what a non-game was until I slowly started to see examples on the board. I came to my own conclusion that they are activities that are beneficial to ones learning. String games, for example, allow someone to use their creativity to expand and try new tricks. Other activities, such as playing the guitar, are beneficial to ones intelligence. Not only can it help you develop character and self-esteem, but it is also known to help increase one's IQ. Video games on the other hand can do the complete opposite. My little brother loves to play Call of Duty all the time. It can not be healthy to go around killing people and brag about it. This means he is sitting in the house staring at a television all day and not being very active. He is only thirteen so he should be running around and playing games outside with his friends. When I grow up and have children of my own I will make sure they stay active.
I think that you're right about the call of duty game. However, there are some video games that can be beneficial to learning. Staying active was an important part of my child hood and my parents didn't have to tell me twice to go outside and play around with my friends with footballs, bikes, etc.
ReplyDeletei agree with your opinion about non-games and how they stimulate the brain. Scientists have prove that activities like playing the guitar, string games, and puzzles help increase memory, speed, and intelligence. Video games like Call of Duty destroy brain cells instead of enhance brain cells trust me I've been a victim to them. Overall, nice blog!
